Postpartum Doula Support Can Include...
- Support feeding, bathing, diapering, clothing, and interacting with your newborn
- Support while processing your birth experience
- Caring for your newborn while you take a long shower or nap (or both)
- Calming your fussy or colicky baby and sharing how to read his cues
- Caring for your older children and including them in baby care
- Light housekeeping such as taking the garbage to the can (and the can to the curb), wiping the counters, loading the dishwasher, and changing the sheets
- Keeping you well nourished and hydrated by preparing light meals, snacks, and drinks
- Washing that mountain of baby laundry
- Taking photos of your family’s first weeks together
- Nursery organization including putting away baby clothes and toys, refilling diaper stacker, refilling wipes container, and refilling the diaper bag
- Helping your partner stay involved in your and your baby’s day-to-day happenings - even if they're deployed
- Support for special circumstances including premature birth, multiples (twins, triplets, or more), adoptions, birth anomalies or other medical issues, cesareans and/or complications with birth, postpartum mood disorders, and more

- Peace of mind with two weeks of e-mail support

The Empowered Package

- On call availability starting 4 weeks before your due date
- 40 hours of postpartum doula support

- Immediate reassurance with 4 weeks of phone/text support

- I promise I’ll support you. Sometimes families worry that working with a postpartum professional means that they’ll be pushed to parent a certain way or judged if they decide not to. Not at Misawa Birth & Baby! No matter what you want, I’ll support your decisions. From breastfeeding to formula & gentle parenting to sleep training, it’s your baby, your decision.
- I promise I’ll help you meet your goals. I’ll help you figure out what needs to happen, we’ll make a plan together, I’ll answer all your questions, and occasionally I’ll even challenge you to take more time for yourself. It’s like having a coach for your baby - and sometimes even yourself.
- If the plan changes, I still promise I’ll support you. If you decide that your original plans aren’t right for you or your family anymore, I'll help you make the change. There are no right or wrong choices - only the choices that are best for you and your growing family.
